This is the first roll of 4 rolls that I have. There are 100 pictures on this roll, so I thought we would start with that. I would make sure that you can download this file first and view the pictures before you send it out to the Sem List. What is interesting about this roll is
there are a number of pictures of the Profs on here, and they didn't know they were being photographed when the pictures were taken. That makes it even funnier. I am sure the guys on the Sem List will like the pictures of the Profs. Most of the seminarians on here are guys in my class, Rhet '63.
I can name each of them today by first and last name as I am sure you can do with the guys in your class. These pictures were taken when my class was in Second and Third High (1959-60)
I did not take these pictures. John Gisla did.
He was in my class and left at the end of the Poet year. John is a high level Federal Attorney over in Sacramento today, about to retire. I had lunch with one day about 5 year ago and he gave these 4 rolls of film to me. I had them put on 4 CD's. He said he gave these to me because I am the historian of our class. I guess unofficially I am. I asked him back then if it was okay to distribute these pictures to others at St Joes, and he said fine. I remember John had a 35mm camera back then that he took these pictures with. That was kind of an expensive item for a kid to have back then.
John developed all of these pictures in the "dark room" at St Joes. Remember that? There was actually a dark room at St Joes that the students could use and it had some very basic film developing gear in there that was donated by someone. I remember John developing some of these pictures in that dark room and then showing them to us. We were amazed. I didn't know a 35mm camera from the back bumper of a car back then.
Enjoy
